Senior Automation Engineer
Project Summary & Overview
We seek a Senior Automation Engineer to participate in our Product Management Transformation project, which will transform how our team delivers ongoing technical support, services, and capabilities to our customers. As our Senior Automation Engineer, you will help implement a new CI/CD and ADO process that will serve as a model across the organization. You will call upon your knowledge and experience of Agile and SCRUM Methodology, Azure DevOps (ADO), Source Control Branching, Jira, and Jira integration with ADO daily.Job Responsibilities:
- Define and implement strategies for continuous integration and release management for Services and Solutions.
- Drive the adoption of application deployment strategies.
- Support and improve tools for continuous integration, automated testing, and release management.
- Act as a technologist to guide development teams through continuous integration adoption and best DevOps practices.
- Create and manage pipelines for code generation, testing, and deployment.
- Work closely with developers and engineers to create end-to-end workflow automation.
- Support distributed software and controls, development teams, and environments.
- Optimize automated build systems.
- Manage build communication channels and document build procedures.
- Manage and maintain the version control system and all related development tools.
- Ensure implementation and enforcement of defined software configuration management practices.
- Define and ensure naming convention, library, and versioning consistency.
Required Skills:
- Five years or more of documented experience in a similar role with projects of similar size and scope.
- Strong experience with Agile and SCRUM Methodology, Azure DevOps (ADO), Source Control Branching, Jira, and Jira integration with ADO
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science or engineering or a technical degree with 6+ years of experience
- Solid understanding and practical experience of software development life cycles, with particular emphasis on build and release engineering functions
- Strong scripting/automation expertise (e.g. MS PowerShell)
- Strong understanding of operating systems, especially Windows and Linux preferred
- Experience with programming languages such as .Net /C# and C++ preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps
- Familiar with the principles of SDLC and methodologies like Agile/Scrum, CI, Good Documentation Practices, Refactoring and Testing Techniques
- Experience in the public sector, regulated industries, PII, Health, or Legal Data is highly desirable
